The authors retain the copyright to their article and grant the journal the right of the initial publication under the Creative Commons Attribution License CC BY 4.0 that allows others to share the published work with a compulsory reference to its authors and its initial publication.
The author of the published article is permitted to distribute it, to post his work in institutional repositories, to publish it as a part of monography, etc. with a compulsory reference to its initial publication.
If an article is accepted for publication in the journal “Ukrainian Linguistics”, the author has to sign Copyright Agreement. The agreement is sent to the postal (original) or electronic (scanned copy) address of the editorial office.
According to our Ethical policy, the author is obligated to submit to print the original linguistic work, which is compiled in accordance with Authors Guidelines. The author is completely responsible for the selection, accuracy of the given facts, quotes, statistics, proper names and other information.
If the experts (reviewers) made comments and / or suggestions to the materials, the author has the right to finalize them or submit to the editorial board the reasoned explanation of his disagreement with the opinion of the experts (the term is two weeks).
If the author discovered an error or inaccuracy in a published research, he must immediately report this to the managing editor for the publication of corrections or refinements.
The names and email addresses entered by the users of this journal website will be used exclusively for the internal technical purposes of this journal. They will not be made available for any other purpose or to outsiders.
The materials of the article are accepted by the editorial board at the address indicated on Contacts page.
The manuscript in which plagiarism is found in amount of:
– more than 25% – will be rejected;
– less than 25% – will be returned to the authors with the recommendation to rewrite the text or to make references to the original sources.
After the initial control for compliance with Authors Guidelines and the plagiarism verification, each article undergoes a double blind review.
Reviewers are the members of the editorial board, leading experts of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (internal review) and other Ukrainian and foreign universities and scientific institutions (external review), who specialize on the problems of the submitted articles.
Reviewers fill in the standard form of Review, which involves the manuscript evaluation according to the following criteria: relevance and novelty of the research, theoretical and practical significance of the article, motivated use of literature according to the research subject, logical and consistent presentation of the material, reasonableness of conclusions, compliance with the standards of scientific style. Reviewers may:
● recommend the article for its publishing without corrections;
● recommend the article for its publishing after author’s amendment, taking into account the comments and wishes expressed by the reviewer;
● recommend the article for its publishing after careful modification;
● do not recommend (reject) the article for publishing.
The executed review is sent to the editorial board by e-mail in the form of a scan copy.
According to the results of the review, the editorial board decides to:
● accept the article for its publishing;
● return the article to the author for amendment, taking into account the comments and wishes expressed by the reviewer;
● return the article to the author for careful modification and to submit the revised version to the same reviewer for reconsideration;
● reject the article for its publishing.
The editorial office sends copies of reviews to the authors (unnamed, so as not to disclose the data of the reviewer) and announces the decision.
The rejection decision at the preliminary review or at the review stages is irreversible. The editorial board does not explain the reasons and does not discuss with the authors the reasons for the rejection of the articles.
The journal provides access to its content on the principles of openness and accessibility, which allows readers to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link to the full texts of its materials. Each issue of the journal is being published in hard and soft copy. The soft copy is obligatory for publishing in open access on the official website of the journal under the heading Archive, as a separate sub-site – on the website of the Institute of Philology of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, and electronic resources (“Scientific Periodicals of the University”) of the M. Maksymovych Scientific Library of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. It is also transferred to the Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine for publishing on the portal “Scientific Periodicals of Ukraine”.
Publication in the scientific collection “Ukrainian Linguistics” is free of charge.
