Complaints and Appeals
The journal’s editorial office considers complaints and appeals in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the publication’s Ethical Policy.
Complaints or appeals should be submitted to the official email of the journal “Ukrainian Linguistics” – ukr.movoznavstvo@knu.ua, addressed to the editor-in-chief.
The editor-in-chief may involve two members of the editorial boards of other publications who have experience handling complaints (appeals) and can help clarify the circumstances described in the submission and resolve disputes or conflicts of interest while adhering to the publication’s Ethical Policy rules.
The priority principles for considering complaints and appeals are: mutual respect for all participants in the editorial process; equal rights for all interested parties in presenting arguments in support of or against the stated claims; directing the resolution process of any dispute through the search for compromise and mutual understanding.
For challenging a publication refusal (in an appeal regarding the article’s scientific quality), the author must provide reasoned responses to the reviewers’ comments. After analyzing the reviewers’ remarks and the author’s arguments, the editor-in-chief decides to either 1) deny the applicant due to the unsubstantiated demands stated in the submission or 2) satisfy the demands stated in the submission. The decision is communicated to the complainant with explanations. The final decision to deny the complaint (appeal) cannot be revoked or contested. The editorial office does not correspond with the authors of the rejected manuscript following such a decision.
The period for considering complaints and/or appeals is 30 working days.
